Abstract: The peer instruction model characterized by equal collaboration and mutual learning through teaching, has increasingly demonstrated its application value in education and medicine in recent years. However, its implementation in standardized training program for dental residents remains in the exploratory phase still need accumulation of practice performance. Based on the dental resident training program at our hospital, this study systematically summarizes the application advantages, implementation pathways, and preliminary practical experience of the peer instruction model. Results of the study indicate that, as compared to classic teaching approaches, peer education model more effectively stimulates trainees′ learning initiative, enhances their in-depth understanding of theoretical knowledge, and improves proficiency in clinical operations. As a supplementary teaching model for standardized dental resident training, it holds substantial application and promotion value.
